Tillandsia cyanea 'Antonio' (Pink quill plant/Air plant)

Tillandsia cyanea or ‘Pink Quill plant’ is an air plant from the flowering Bromeliad family. An air plant is a plant that lives an epiphytic lifestyle- a plant that can grow without soil and can adhere itself to trees, rocks and other surfaces. This variety is planted in a pot and has long thin firm strap-like leaves with stunning shocking pink flowers on long stems nuckmaked ‘Pink quills’

Care Difficulty: Easy care needs.

Light requirements: For best results pop in a spot where it will receive bright but indirect light, away from radiators. Avoid direct sunlight as this can scorch the leaves.

Humidity: Enjoys humidity. You can give it regular misting or place in a room near a humidifier. Bathroom and kitchens are also beneficial for humidity.

Watering: Water throughly when the top 2 inches are dry. Do not allow this plant to sit in water as this can cause the roots to rot.

Toxicity: Non toxic to humans and pets

Fertilising: Doesn't require much feeding but if you do want feed it do so at the beginning of its growing season (spring/summer) Follow the instructions on the fertiliser packaging for proper application. As a general rule don't feed in winter.

Repotting: Does not require frequent repotting but try to keep it in a heavier pot to stop it from toppling over.
