Overview

This stunning succulent is native to southern Mexico and can be a real statement plant. Also known as a 'Donkey Tail' due to its resemblance to the animal's tail. The leaves are a pale blue-green to pastel dusky pink, with a matte finish (also known as 'epicuticular wax' a common natural coating on succulent leaves- due to this it is not advisable to handle the plant frequently as the oils in our skin disrupt the Sedums growth).

The epicuticular wax of the burrito sedum helps to protect it from the brightness of the Mexican sun in its natural habitat. Very easy to care for and propagate from leaves. The fleshy trailing stems can grow up to 3 ft long, which means they look great in a hanging basket or trailing over a shelf.

Quick Care Guide

Care Difficulty: An easy to care for Succulent.

Light requirements: Sedum morganianum likes bright but indirect morning sunlight but can still grow in semi-shade.

Watering: Though this plant can tolerate short periods of drought it will prefer being watered when the top 2 inches are dry. Ensure you cut back on watering in winter.

Humidity: This plant does not like humidity, getting the leaves wet can lead them to rot.

Toxicity: Non-toxic to humans and pets, but recommended that you keep it away from children and animals.

Feeding: Will enjoy a feed around twice a year in spring and summer (growing season).

Repotting: This does not need to be repotted often, once every 5 years as this plant has shallow roots, however, you can refresh the top soil once in a while. Cacti and succulent soil is the best choice for the donkey tail plant.
