Philodendron 'Sunlight'

A stunning Philodendron with leaves that almost look like they are glowing, hence the name 'Sunlight'. This particular variety new leaves come out a bright red/orange that turn green over time and is a self heading philodendron. A great plant to add a bit of colour to your collection.

Care Difficulty: An easy-to-care-for plant.

Light requirements: Bright but indirect sunlight is best for this plant but it can tolerate lower light levels, however, this will have an effect on the vibrancy of the foliage. Keep out of direct sunlight as this can cause burnt brown spots on the leaves. Make sure to regularly turn the ‘Prince of Orange’ to ensure even growth on each side.

Watering: Water thoroughly once the top half of the soil has dried out. Make sure not to let this plant sit in water as they are very susceptible to root rot.

Humidity: Will be ok in average household conditions but to give it an extra boost you can increase the humidity by grouping plants together, misting or placing them in a kitchen or bathroom.

Toxicity: Toxic to humans and pets.

Feeding: Likes to be fertilised once a month during the growing season (spring and summer) stopping in winter.

Repotting: Likes to be repotted every two years to a pot that is one or two sizes up from its current container with good drainage or when becoming rootbound (the roots are coming out from the bottom of the pot).
