Monstera Deliciosa 'Variegata' (Variegated Cheese Plant)

An extremely sought-after variety of the more common Swiss Cheese Plant. The Monstera Deliciosa ‘Variegata’ is variegated with white splotches on dark green heart-shaped leaves that can vary from plant to plant.

Their common name ‘Swiss Cheese Plant’ comes from the way ridges and holes appear on its leaves. This easy-to-care-for plant is native to areas of southern Mexico and has similar care needs to the greener version.

Care Difficulty: Like other Monsteras the variegated variety is also super easy to care for and can grow well in a variety of conditions and can withstand some neglect.

Light requirements: The Variegated Monstera Deliciosa prefers bright but indirect sunlight. Direct sunlight will burn the leaves. Can tolerate low light but this will reduce the variegation and produce slower growth. Prefers warm conditions so keep away from draughts and radiators.

Watering: Water thoroughly and allow topsoil to dry out between waterings, do not let this plant completely dry out. Monsteras are also prone to root rot so make sure the soil isn’t waterlogged.

Humidity: Loves humidity so make sure you use a humidifier or mist. Grouping plants together also helps to increase humidity. Will appreciate wiping its clean leaves with a wet damp cloth.

Feeding: Enjoys a feed around once a month in spring and summer but not during the winter
