Ledebouria socialis or 'Leopard Lillies' are indoor succulent bulbs that provide the most gorgeous spotty foliage, ranging from deep green to lime these leaves are really stunning. The bulb is dormant in the Winter but the foliage doesn't die back as is the case with other indoor bulbs. The plant flowers with small white blooms in the Spring when the growing season starts up.

RATING- Moderate

LOVES- A bright but indirectly lit spot away form direct sunlight, too much sunlight can burn the leaves and fade the variegation. Water when the top inch of soil dries out. Enjoys some humidity- a bathroom would be perfect.

HATES- Overwatering especially in Winter- these bulbs are dormant in the winter so need just enough water to keep it ticking over until Spring. Allow the plant to remain dry for a few days before watering. The bulb stores water so has some reserves.

Pot diameter- 12cm

    Quick Care Guide

Care Difficulty: This plant has moderate care needs.

Light requirements: As an indoor plant, it requires bright but indirect light. Direct sunlight can burn the leaves.

Watering: Water thoroughly after allowing the top 2 inches of soil to dry out. This plant does not like overwatering so make sure the soil has sufficient drainage and that the pot has drainage holes. During winter they go through a dormancy period so cut back on the watering. Are slightly drought tolerant as the bulbs store water.

Humidity: Enjoys some humidity. Grouping humidity-loving plants together can help, as can placing pots of a wet pebble tray. You can mist the area around the foliage although this will only increase humidity temporarily.

Toxicity: Toxic to pets & humans.

Feeding: Can be fed in the growing season during spring and summer every 4 weeks, but refrain from feeding in winter.

Repotting: Can be repotted every 2-3 years or when it has outgrown its current pot. Use a cacti and succulent soil mix, this plant doesn't mind being a bit root bound.
