Kalanchoe humilis 'Surprising desert' is a stunning colourful succulent from central and south-west Africa. The fleshy leaves grow in multiple rosettes with stunning grey-green and purple stripes! The multiple flowers appear on top of tall stems from the centre of each rosette. An unusual but easy care addition to any plant collection.

LOVES- A bright and sunny position with some direct sunlight being beneficial in Autumn.

HATES-Overwatering or being misted. Water roughly once every 2 weeks in summer and once a month in winter when the soil is dry

Quick Care Guide

Care Difficulty: This plant has very easy care needs.

Light requirements: Likes a bright spot with some direct sunlight being beneficial but no midday sun. A sunny windowsill is the ideal place.

Watering: Like many succulents allow the soil to dry out between waterings, reducing further in winter. Do not let this plant sit in water as this will increase the chances of root rot.

Humidity: Does not need any additional humidity so will work well in average household conditions.

Toxicity: Toxic to humans and pets

Feeding: Enjoys a feed around mid-spring during its growing season.

Repotting: Repot once a year or when it has outgrown its current container. Use a Cactus and succulent mix and pot up one size larger in a container with good drainage.

Free local delivery to Brighton & Hove homes and surrounding areas is available.

UK Nationwide delivery fees (for total orders under £50):

  • £4 for 48-hour tracked delivery via Royal Mail
  • £6.95 tracked next-day working day delivery with UPS (order must be received before 2pm to guarantee next-day delivery).

These charges cover the whole order, regardless of how many items. Please email us if you would like the option to upgrade your shipping for faster delivery.

Refunds & returns

Refunds are available for any plant or product with an obvious fault. The request must be made within 7 days of delivery via email or by phone.

Any products damaged in transit will require photos to be submitted via email. If we think they are salvageable we will provide you with return labels. If they are not we will provide a full refund, but we require the complaint to be submitted within 7 days of receiving the plant.

Any return of plants within 7 days for any other reason will require the customer to pay for that return postage. Full details can be found here on our Refunds Policy page.
