Hedera helix 'Esther' (English Ivy)

This variety 'Esther' has stunning pale to deep green leaves! Grows as a trailing plant and is quick growing especially in Spring-Summer but can also climb if given support! Hedera helix is a flowering plant in the family Araliaceae. It is native to Europe and western Asia.

Care Difficulty: Easy to care for.

Light requirements: Prefer bright indirect light. Direct sunlight can cause the leaves to burn. Will appreciate good air circulation.

Watering: Water thoroughly but allow this plants top 2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings.

Humidity: Can do well in normal household conditions but will enjoy some humidity. Grouping humidity-loving plants together can help, as can placing pots of a wet pebble tray. You can mist the area around the foliage although this will only increase humidity temporarily. Humidifiers are also beneficial to increase humidity. Great plant for terrariums.

Toxicity: Toxic to humans and pets

Feeding: Enjoys being fed during Spring- Summer growth period once a month. Always follow the instructions on your feed of choice.

Repotting: Repot around once a year -check to see if the roots are coming out the bottom of the pot!
