Euphorbia trigona 'Rubara' (African milk tree- Succulent tree)

There are over 2,000 species of Euphorbia, which grow all across the world, but particularly in warmer regions, like this one, the Euphorbia trigona. Known as an African milk tree, this Euphorbia is native to Central Africa. This particular Euphorbia variety is a shade of deep green with 3 sided upright stems that gives it the name ‘Trigona’. This particular variety has a redish tinge to it.

Teardrop-shaped leaves and thorns will grow on the sides of these stems. A perennial plant, the euphorbia will drop and regrow its leaves. A statement plant for any room.

Care Difficulty: Super easy to care for, brilliant plant for beginners as they don’t require much care.

Light requirements: Warm bright sunny spot, with some early morning or later afternoon direct sunlight being ideal.

Watering: Water thoroughly but allow this plant to dry out completely between waterings. Drought tolerant, its best to underwater then to overwater. Reduce watering in winter.

Humidity: Does not need any extra humidity.

Toxicity: Toxic to humans and pets

Feeding: Enjoys being fed during Spring- Summer growth period once a month. Always follow the instructions on your feed of choice. A cactus feed is best.

Repotting: Repot around every 2-3 years-check to see if the roots are coming out the bottom
