    Overview

The Spider plant is native to southern Africa, and has slender, variegated leaves with white stripes. Spider plants send out long stems which produce tiny white flowers, as well as baby spider plants! The ‘babies’ are very easy to propagate - simply place them in some damp potting soil and wait for the roots to develop. After 2-3 weeks, cut the stem that connects them to the mother plant with some clean, sharp scissors. Their bushy appearance makes them great hanging plants too.

    Quick Care Guide

Care Difficulty: This plant has easy care needs.

Light: Spider plants thrive in bright, indirect light. Avoid exposing them to direct sunlight, which can scorch their leaves. They can tolerate lower light conditions, but their growth may slow down.

Watering: Allow the top two inches of the soil to dry out before watering. Water thoroughly, ensuring water drains from the bottom of the pot. Overwatering can lead to root rot.

Humidity: Spider plants appreciate higher humidity, but they can adapt to typical indoor humidity levels. If you notice brown tips on the leaves, it could be a sign that the air is too dry.

Fertilisation: During the growing season (spring and summer), feed your spider plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser every 2-4 weeks.

Toxicity: Non toxic to pets & humans.

Repotting: Can be repotted every 1-2 years or when it has outgrown its current pot.
